Motorists in western Scotts Bluff County can count on some disruption next summer as U.S. Highway 26 is milled and resurfaced between Morrill and Mitchell. The 7.28-mile-long project is one of 15 across the Panhandle that the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s District 5 office in Gering expects to work on during the 2024-25 state fiscal year that began Monday.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved staff recommendations for a 2025 mountain lion hunting season at its June 21 meeting in Ogallala.
