Hibbett Sports hosts back-to-school supply giveaway in north Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s almost time to send your kid back to school and one local event is helping you get started. Hibbett Sports located in the Old Hickory Mall, is hosting a back-to-school giveaway Friday. Free school supplies and backpacks will be given away at this event.
Collinwood Commission Discusses Paving & Historical Grants
The Collinwood City Commission met in regular session on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the conference/courtroom of Collinwood City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Glenn Brown. All commissioners were in attendance, including Mayor Brown, Vice Mayor Jeremiah Stults, Commissioner Debie Pigg, Commissioner Shaundale Hanback, and Commissioner Kim McFall. City Manager Gary Victory and City Recorder Dana Simmons were in attendance as well.
City approves budget with 6-3 vote, may enter further debt for road repair
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson City Council made their final vote Friday morning to pass the largest budget in history for the City in a 6 to 3 vote. There was very minimal discussion regarding the budget before a motion was passed to end the discussion, while some questions were still being asked.

Springville, Tenn.–A Springville home is a total loss after a fire Thursday evening. The owners were not home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Paris, Tenn.–Lauren has been located and is safe! Thanks to all that provided assistance!. This is the original press release from the Paris PD:. The Paris Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing juvenile. 17 year-old Lauren Coleman did not return home on July 16th and is considered to be a runaway. Lauren may have dyed or cut her hair and attempted to change her appearance. She is believed to be driving the blue van pictured below (2000 Toyota Sienna with body damage).
