SCOTTSBORO, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A single-vehicle accident last week led to a drug investigation and arrest by the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD).

The police department said officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday, July 23. During the accident investigation, officers found marijuana, hydrocodone and alprazolam pills inside the car.

The driver of the car was identified as 41-year-old Curtis Dale Parker. He was transported to Highlands Medical Center.

After discovering the drugs in Parker’s car, officers obtained a search warrant for his house. Inside Parker’s house, officers found 4.08 lbs of marijuana, 4.4 grams of methamphetamine/fentanyl mix, Suboxone strips, alprazolam pills and various types of drug paraphernalia.

Officers also found $1,573 in cash on him following the accident.

Parker had an open investigation against him before his accident. In May, SPD officers executed a search warrant of Parker’s house where they found a large amount of drugs and money.

He was arrested on July 30 for trafficking marijuana, trafficking fentanyl, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
