Sendoff party held for ‘Miss Indiana USA’ ahead of ‘Miss USA’ competition
ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A grand sendoff was held Sunday night for Elkhart County’s very own 2024 Miss Indiana USA Stephanie Sullivan as she leaves for California next week. The party took place at Michael’s Italian Restaurant in Elkhart — a place that Sullivan and her family have frequented for a bite to eat for more than 15 years.

Jackson County Fair opens, Fair Queen crowned
BROWNSTOWN, Ind. – The 2024 Jackson County Fair got underway Sunday evening in Brownstown and continues today, Monday, July 22, through this Saturday, July 27. One of the initial events was choosing the Jackson County Fair Queen Court on Sunday evening. Carly Kaiser was selected as the 2024 Jackson County Fair Queen. The first Runner Up was Lily Stogdill, and the second Runner Up went to Camryn Thompson. The honor of Miss Congeniality was bestowed upon Erin Lee.
Jennings County crowdfunding campaign needs $20K to receive matching grant
NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Jennings County residents will soon have more equitable access to community wellness activities if a crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $20,000 by September 15. The project, led by Perceptions Yoga, Mindfulness, and Art, Inc. would receive a matching grant from IHCDA’s CreatINg Places program.
NAPD: 2 injured in double shooting in southern Indiana
NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Two men are hospitalized after a double shooting Monday night in southern Indiana. At about 7 p.m., New Albany police responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of Culbertson Avenue, about a half mile away from New Albany High School, according to a NAPD news release.
