Hunkapi Programs, an equine therapy farm located at 12051 N. 96th St., announces its partnership with the McS Charitable Foundation, based in Arizona.

Created in memory of Mary Carol Sheets, the founder of McS Charitable Foundation whose passion for animals, education, veterans and Christianity continues to inspire, this collaboration embodies a shared commitment to transformative impact.

The grant, exceeding $190,000, reflects McS Charitable Foundation's dedication to nurturing initiatives that resonate with Mary's values:

$140,000 to Rebuild Horse Stable Facility: This contribution is dedicated to supporting the operations, activities and initiatives main stable facility, which may include animal welfare, education, therapy programs, and other endeavors aligned with the mission and values of the McS Charitable Foundation.

$27,000 to First Responder Program: This allocation supports programs and initiatives aimed at assisting and honoring first responders, including active-duty military and veterans, firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians and other essential personnel who courageously serve their communities.

$25,000 for Gala: The funds earmarked for the gala are designated to cover the expenses associated with organizing and hosting an event, such as venue rental, catering, entertainment, marketing and other logistical requirements. The gala serves as a platform to raise awareness, celebrate achievements, and generate support for charitable causes championed by the foundation.

"We are deeply grateful for this generous grant, which empowers us to continue our mission of leveraging the healing power of equine therapy," said Terra Schaad, founder of Hunkapi Programs. "The support from McS Charitable Foundation amplifies our ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and the broader community."

Last year marked a significant milestone for Hunkapi Programs with the establishment of its permanent farm location along the Cactus Corridor in Scottsdale. Spanning 10 acres, the farm provides sanctuary to 35 retired and rescued horses used in a variety of diverse therapeutic services.

The partnership between Hunkapi Programs and McS Charitable Foundation is founded on a commitment to sustainability and impact. With annual donations tailored to address the farm's most pressing needs, this collaboration ensures continuity and resilience in serving those in need.

“When we were introduced to Hunkapi Programs and the work they were doing on the farm, we immediately knew this was an organization that aligned with our values,” said Julie Jumet, director of charitable giving at McS Charitable Foundation. “We could not be more excited about the partnership to come.”
