Hunkapi Programs, an equine therapy farm located in the heart of Scottsdale, participated in The Price is Right game show in February, resulting in a volunteer winning the organization over $18,000.

Paul Natale, a dedicated volunteer at Hunkapi Programs, was given the opportunity to compete on the show thanks to the unwavering support of founder and executive director Terra Schaad, according to a press release.

Natale’s passion for The Price is Right dates back over 50 years to his high school days and he has been an enthusiastic audience member on five separate occasions. His first experience as an audience member was in 1999.

Schaad’s commitment to Natale’s dream of being on the show brought together a dedicated group of individuals, TPIR- 13, embodying the spirit of teamwork that Hunkapi Programs champions.

“It’s truly remarkable how Terra and the team rallied behind me to make this dream a reality,” Natale said in the release. “With a larger group in attendance, you are more likely to be chosen as a contestant on the show.”

Natale has been volunteering at the farm for 4 years. His love for the Price is Right combined with his devotion to Hunkapi Programs is what led him to compete for prize money to donate to the farm’s efforts and needs.

“What initially drew me to Hunkapi was its mission and the sense of safety and belonging it offered me,” Natale said in the release. “The dedication of the staff and volunteers, and their tireless efforts to sustain the organization, continue to inspire me. I felt compelled to give back to a program that has given me so much.”

The prize earnings will be given to Hunkapi Programs high-priority needs, further supporting its impactful programs.

Terra Schaad emphasizes the sense of community and shared achievement Natale’s win represents.

“Seeing Paul’s dream come true on The Price is Right was a testament to the power of community at Hunkapi,” Schaad said in the release. “We believe in uplifting each other and creating opportunities for growth and joy. Paul’s win is not just his own, but it’s a win for all of us who support and believe in the mission of Hunkapi Programs.”
