Construction on Scottsdale Road starting May 13

A crack fill and micro seal project is scheduled on Scottsdale Road between Indian Bend Road and Gold Dust Avenue May 13–June 10.

Crews will be working overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday–Friday. Weekend work will be scheduled if needed, according to the Town Manager’s Weekly Update.

One travel lane, in each direction, will remain open during construction. Business access will be maintained throughout the project.

Residents should expect to see crews working along the roadway in two phases: a crack fill treatment followed by a micro seal application, the newsletter shared. A crack fill treatment is often a pre-treatment to a micro seal application. The micro seal coating helps extend the life of the asphalt and reduces maintenance costs. Additional benefits include a smoother and safer ride and enhanced curb appeal. The finished roadway will be striped in the existing configuration of three travel lanes north and south; existing left and right turn bays will be maintained.

This work is part of the City of Scottsdale’s pavement preservation program, which enhances deteriorated pavement on streets and alleyways in Scottsdale.
