    Lackawanna County man charged after shots fired and standoff with police

    SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Scranton Police have arrested one man after a standoff with police Sunday morning.

    In a release, Scranton Police Department say they have arrested 39-year-old Raymond Beck after shots were fired at a residence in Scranton.

    Officials state that they were dispatched just before 3:00 a.m. to the 500 block of Regan Place where officers confirmed was fired at a person inside the residence.

    Beck then fled the residence where he reportedly fired more shots before entering another residence on the 500 block of 4th Avenue where patrol officer heard more gunshots, according to the release.

    Scranton Police then called in a SWAT team and surrounded the residence on 4th Avenue before negotiating the surrender with Beck.

    He was taken into custody just before 6:00 a.m. and charged with Felony Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, Simple Assault- Fear of Serious Injury, and Reckless Endangerment among other charges.

    Scranton Police are continuing their investigation of this incident.
