LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Lions Club has announced it’s postponing its 90th annual Dream Game due to the weather.

The game was originally scheduled for July 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The game will now be held on July 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Club President Allan Hetkowski said the safety of players, staff and fans is their top priority.

“Our primary concern is ensuring the safety of everyone attending the Dream Game. With the severe weather forecast, we believe it’s in everyone’s best interest to reschedule. We appreciate the understanding and support of our community,” Hetkowski said.

The Dream Game Chair, Bill Dempsey said, “The Scranton Lions Club is committed to providing an incredible experience for the players and their families while raising important funds for the Lackawanna Blind Association. By postponing to a day with better weather, we hope to ensure that everyone can fully enjoy the event.”

The Scranton Lions Club apologizes for any inconvenience and looks forward to seeing everyone on July 18.
