SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Weld-a-saurus welding camp at the Career Technology Center is welcoming 7th and 8th graders to learn to weld.

Today campers constructed dinosaurs. Campers learned how to use a welder, and basic welding techniques make a steel plate into the skeleton of a dinosaur.

“My ultimate goal and our schools ultimate goal is to get them ready, if they want to go into a skill trade, come here, get the certifications, get the technical knowledge, and the skills to do it, and go out and really rule the world,” stated Kyle Linko, Supervisor of the Career Technology Center.

“This is really awesome, it is so much fun. I love doing welding with my friends,” exclaimed Gideon Tajan, who is spending his second year at this camp.

Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County also offers the camp for adults interested in welding!
