    Scranton man sentenced to 28.5 to 60 years after assaulting three kids

    SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a man will be spending time in prison after being sentenced for assaulting three children.

    The Lackawanna County District Attorney Mark Powell in a press release said Judge Michael Barrasse sentenced Kareem Shelton on Monday to 28 and a half to 60 years in prison for aggravated assault of children on three underage victims.

    28/22 News reported previously that in August of 2023, the US Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force and Scranton Police arrested Shelton at his Scranton home for assaulting children over an 18-month period between 2015 and 2016.
