Newton School 2024-2025 School Calendar
NEWTON, NJ – The 2024-2025 school calendar includes vacation days, early dismissals and delayed openings. The district must provide 180 days of instruction with each day required to have four hours of instruction time. The Newton calendar provides for 184 student days and 188 days for staff. The former Notre Dame Catholic High School begins anew as Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart University
WEST HAVEN, Conn. — With a new school year comes a new name for a Catholic institution in Fairfield. The former Notre Dame Catholic High School is now being called Notre Dame Prep of Sacred Heart University. The Diocese of Bridgeport sold the school to the university on July 1.

Bloomfield Police Launch 'Cops in Crosswalks' Initiative
BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- To enhance public awareness of pedestrian safety and minimize injuries and fatalities, the Bloomfield Police Department will intensify enforcement against drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. The "Cops in Crosswalks" initiative will be implemented across the township.
