The 23-room resort with a central bar and pool was listed for $4.6 million on Thursday, setting off concerns that the area could lose another gay-owned gathering place in the area. But the owners emphasize that they will take their time making sure it winds up in the right hands.

National Weather Service experts are warning of enduring heat that could reach into the triple digits next week in the North Bay. FIRE WEATHER loomed over in the area Tuesday afternoon with some locals getting an eerie, heavy, clammy, all-too-still nervous feeling that dry lightning was on the western horizon. Some Bay Area weather people later confirmed that there was some chance of dry lightning and thunderstorms in the overnight forecast. Local firefighters were on their toes.
CSD Notes: Mountain House Road Firebug?
AV FIRE CHIEF Andres Avila told the Community Services District Board on Wednesday that three suspicious wildland fires were started along the roadside of Mountain House Road between Yorkville and Hopland on the mornings of June 11, 12 and 17, each at around 6am. Fortunately, conditions at the time were not conducive to fast spread and the fires were contained to relatively small areas. Chief Avila declined to provide additional details as the fires are under active investigation by local law enforcement and CalFire authorities. Some locals recall a series of (at least) six fires in the same general vicinity set by convicted arsonist David Valley back in 2005.
Preston Fire nears full containment after burning 11 acres north of Cloverdale
Crews have contained 80% percent of a wildfire that broke out north of Cloverdale on Tuesday afternoon, according to Cal Fire. The Preston Fire began on the east side of Geysers Road near Preston Drive around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. In its update on the blaze around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Cal Fire said the blaze reached 11 acres with the forward progress stopped. There were no reported injuries related to the wildfire.Fire officials said they are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Pet adoption event in Cloverdale Saturday
With shelters too full to accept surrenders and the Ukiah Animal Shelter’s dog kennels full to bursting, adoption events are more important than ever. Pets need a forever home—or even a foster situation to free up space. On Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., four animal shelter and rescue organizations are gathering at the Clover Dog Pet Supply and Wash for a fun pool party and adoption event. Forward Progress Stopped on 11-Acre Preston Fire North of Cloverdale; 80-Percent Contained
Crews have stopped the forward progress of another wildfire in Sonoma County. The Preston Fire started north of Cloverdale at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. It burned eleven acres of land before crews got a handle on it in about an hour and a half. There are no reports of injuries or property damage.
