Jun. 25—A wildfire burning north of Cloverdale grew to 6 acres Tuesday evening before fire crews were able to get it under control, Cal Fire officials said. On Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., four animal shelter and rescue organizations are gathering at the Clover Dog Pet Supply and Wash for a fun pool party and adoption event. Supporters of the Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence came out in support of them and their story time event. On Saturday, a handful of protesters associated with the American TFP or Tradición, Familia y Propiedad, rallied outside the Guerneville branch of the Sonoma County Library calling for the end of their Pride Month event. However, about 40 supporters of the sisters came out and outnumbered the protesters pushing back against hateful rhetoric. The story time event went on as scheduled and uninterrupted.

Monte Rio Fire Chief Getting Surgery After Suffering Fall Earlier This Week
Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman needs surgery after fracturing his spine earlier this week. Baxman took a fall on Wednesday, after stepping off his two-and-a-half-ton Army truck. The chief was hospitalized in Santa Rosa, then transferred to U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he will undergo surgery this morning.
