Houston man pleads guilty to wire fraud, faces up to 20 years in prison
HOUSTON, Texas — A 39-year-old Houston man has pleaded guilty to wire fraud, announced U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani. Brett Michael Detamore, operating as a custom home builder under Detamore Development LLC, fraudulently obtained at least $1.5 million for his personal use by misusing funds intended for the construction of private residences. Detamore submitted false and fraudulent invoices to banks holding construction loans for single-family residences he had been contracted to build. The false invoices caused the banks to send funds to bank accounts Detamore controlled, which he then used for his personal benefit.

Precinct 8 Deputy Webber’s traffic stop leads to locking up a 🤡 for drugs and a weapon.
On August 17, 2024, Precinct 8 Deputy Webber with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of El Dorado Blvd on a vehicle displaying an expired registration. The driver was identified as 22 year old Chris Alexander Lazo. While speaking with the driver, Deputy Webber detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Lazo was directed to step out of the vehicle and was found to be in possession of a handgun. Deputies conducted a probable cause based search of the vehicle and located 2.8 grams of marijuana, a small bottle containing Xanax and drug paraphernalia. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Unlawful Carry of Weapon but declined charges for the narcotics. Lazo was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $100.
