Some of California's mountains were treated to their first August snow in 20 years over the weekend while millions of Americans sweltered through continued high heat. A storm not only ushered in November-like temperatures in the Golden State, but also November-like snow. Snow is more common after later September in California's peaks, so even the ski resorts were surprised to see it.
