    Seaside awards $23,500 in tourism grants

    The City of Seaside Visitors Bureau and Seaside Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC) awarded $23,500 in funding to seven recipients through the 2024-2025 Tourism Grant Program. Funds will be dispersed in July.

    The application window for this latest grant round opened Feb. 2 and completed applications were due May 3. On May 15, and during its regular monthly meeting at Seaside City Hall, the TAC reviewed 10 applications with $41,500 total in requested grant funding.

    Doxies of PNW Club received $4,700 for DachSand 2024, a multi-day dachshund dog meetup and fundraiser in Seaside, Sept. 6-8, 2024.

    The Seaside Historical Society Museum received $2,800 for its annual Lewis & Clark Salt Makers re-enactment Sept. 7-8, 2024 on the beach at Avenue U.

    Seaside SandFest received $3,000 for a Masters Sand Sculpture Exhibition just off the Turnaround and $2,000 for Lesson Beach sand sculpting instructions for all-ages. This week-long exhibition will feature master-level sculptors from the Pacific Northwest from Sept. 12-15, 2024.

    Seaside Downtown Development Association received $3,000 for Halloween Happenin’s, an extremely popular collection of family-friendly events downtown Oct. 26-27, 2024.

    Sunset Empire Park & Recreation Foundation received $1,500 for their annual and growing Turkey Trot event on Nov. 28, 2024.

    Seaside Jazz & Blues received $5,000 for its second year, which will again bring diverse forms of jazz to Seaside for a three-day event March 14-16, 2025.

    Miss Oregon received $1,500 to enhance the community reach of their June 25-28, 2025 Miss Oregon Scholarship Program, which has been hosted in Seaside each year since 1947.

    The Visitors Bureau is a department of the City of Seaside and the official destination marketing/management organization for Seaside tourism. The Seaside Welcome Center, located at the intersection of Highway 101 and Broadway, also serves as an official State Welcome Center in collaboration with Travel Oregon.
