The chef behind Eleven Madison Park, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant once called the “best in the world,” is opening something new. Chef Daniel Humm has signed a lease for a 5,000-square-foot restaurant in the West Village, at 435 Hudson Street, between Leroy and Morton streets, Crain’s New York Business reports. The property, built in 1931, is a nine-story office with storefronts from Adidas and L’Oreal. The restaurant will open on the ground floor of the building next year, per a spokesperson for Humm.

Rainbow Cone, a 98-year-old ice cream shop from Chicago, is opening three locations in Southern California. The first store is slated to debut later this year in Orange County at 9527 Valley View Street in Cypress. The two other locations will be announced after the leases are signed, a rep tells Eater. Founded in 1926, Rainbow Cone is best known for its stacked ice cream slices that include five flavors perched on a single cone: chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts), pistachio, and orange sherbet.
