With summer in full swing, there are loads of events happening around the city from art exhibits and baseball games to nostalgia rock and dance parties.

    • Here are a few of our favorites to give you some ideas.

    Thursday

💋 Revel in West Coast counterculture at the Seattle Art Museum with the Poke in the Eye exhibit that celebrates the reactionary movement, which was centered in Seattle and the Bay Area, against the "sleekness, formality, and coldness" of Pop and minimalism. Through Sept. 2. $30 .

🍿 Bring the family to Cartoon Happy Hour at Central Cinema on Thursdays through the summer. 5-7pm. Admission is free. No ticket or reservation needed.

    Friday

🛢️ Groove to the island sounds of reggae musicians Prezident Brown , Reggae Angels , Dub Collective and DJ Rootsonic at High Dive . 8pm. $25 .

🎹 Take a nostalgic trip to 70s and 80s with the music of Tom Petty at the Nectar Lounge with tribute band Petty Thief . 7pm. $40 .

🔱 Root for the Mariners against the Astros at one of three games in the series at T-Mobile Park this weekend, starting at 7:30pm. Around $70 .

🌯 Try a huge range of fare at the 40-year plus Bite of Seattle festival Friday through Sunday at Seattle Center. Free but the costs extra, of course.

    • Parking is a challenge so best to walk, ride, cycle or bus it.

    Saturday

🪩 Take part in the Kids Are All Riot all-ages dance party in Pioneer Square, featuring a rotating mix of DJs. 300 Occidental Ave S., 1-4pm. Every Saturday through Aug. 31. Free.

🎸 Relive the glory days of grunge with Nirvana cover band Nevermind and KILLBILLY at High Dive. 8pm. $20 .

    Sunday

🎭 Discover Seattle with one of a score of HistoryLink's self-guided walking tours highlighting architecture, art, music, history or food in Volunteer Park, Pioneer Square, Pike Place Market, Snohomish and more. Free.
