The Seattle Seahawks are hosting free agent center Connor Williams for a visit on Tuesday, according to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN .

Williams (6-foot-5, 317 pounds) was a second-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2018 NFL draft. He played left guard for Dallas the next four seasons, putting in 51 starts total. After the 2021 season he signed with the Miami Dolphins and made the move to center, where he started all 17 games in 2022. Last year Williams stayed at center, putting in 497 snaps before a "pretty significant" knee injury ended his season after nine games. Even though it was only half a season, Williams earned spectacular grades from Pro Football Focus for his work in 2023, including 90.5 in pass blocking. That ranked second-best in the league at his position behind Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions.

Williams is currently by far the best center that's still on the market and Seattle has a need for one with more experience than their current options. Olu Oluwatimi only played 129 offensive snaps as a rookie and Nick Harris has only started four games in his NFL career so far. If he ends up signing, Williams will be starting at center for the Seahawks Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.

Other positions that need addressing include off-ball linebacker - where the Seahawks have a flurry of injuries - and edge rusher - where Seattle could use more firepower behind projected starters Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe.
