    Where to watch the Olympics in the Seattle area

    With over a dozen Washingtonians competing at the Summer Olympics in Paris this year, there's few better ways to cheer on our own than at a local sports bar.

    State of play: While the opening ceremony is at 10:30am PT on Friday, several competitions started Wednesday.


    Zoom in: Standouts from Washington staet include gold medal winning canoeist Nevin Harrison , artistic swimmer Audrey Kwon, swimmer Matt King, hurdler CJ Allen, kayaker Aaron Small and gymnast Jordan Chiles .

    What to expect: Paris is nine hours ahead of Pacific Time, so keep that in mind when planning your day around an event.

    Westlake Station

    Seattle Parks and Recreation is holding an outdoor watch party Sunday for the match between the U.S. women's soccer team and Germany.

    • Visitors can watch on a giant LED screen at Westlake Center, while enjoying a beer garden, food trucks and free activities. The match starts at noon.

    If you're willing to take a bus, walk or drive a bit further, you can also watch the games at Rhein Haus on Capitol Hill; Macleod's Scottish Pub in Ballard; Stoup Kenmore ; or at Stadium Golf in Tacoma.
