Seahawks' Chase For Former Cowboys, Dolphins Player Gets Key Update

The Seattle Seahawks are on the verge of strengthening their offensive line in front of quarterback Geno Smith.

The organization is nearing a deal with former Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys lineman Connor Williams, per Pro Football Talk. According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, a contract should be finalized in the next 2-3 days.

Williams tore his ACL on December 11 of last season but is reportedly at 100% health ahead of the 2024 season. He initially came into the NFL as a guard but following his two-year extension with the Dolphins in 2022, Williams became a center and thrived at the position.

The former Texas Longhorn entered free agency this offseason and would bring experience to the table for the Seahawks. On July 22, he worked out for the franchise. Seattle clearly liked what they saw.

“He’s going to be able to play in the first game,” Rosenhaus said, per Scott Saloman of SI.com. “It is the most amazing recovery I have ever seen in my career.”

The Seahawks open the season on September 8 against the Denver Broncos. We'll likely see Williams protecting Geno.
