A July 14 dance competition in Sebastopol raised money for youth programs at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center.

All ages were welcome at the Future Styles Dance Competition, an afternoon family-friendly event to benefit the Morris Street center’s Future Club.

Dancers battled for a $300 or $500 cash prize.

A breakdance workshop was held before the contest. There was also live art, music and vendors.

Cost of admission was on a sliding scale donation of $5-$20. No one was turned away for lack of funds

The event was sponsored by local ice cream shop 2 Dog Night Creamery, Community First Credit Union and Oliver’s Market.

Future Club is an after school and summer program for teens at the Sebastopol center.
