Now the obsession has officially arrived in Los Angeles with a new shop in Koreatown dedicated solely to these treats! Tangtastic just opened their store in December, and it’s already gained quite the popularity. Much like other L.A. destinations, there can be a line, but we have to say it’s worth the wait. They offer several varieties of fruits you can choose from. Our favorite combo is the grapes and strawberries duo. They say the eyes eat first, and this snack is definitely photo-worthy. But even beyond looks, the treat offers just the right balance of juicy sweetness that’ll satisfy your cravings without the feeling of overindulging.

Beloved Milk Jar Cookies Is Closing Both Los Angeles Locations This Month
Dessert-loving hearts and tummies are feeling empty right about now. The beloved Milk Jar Cookies shop is closing both their Los Angeles locations on January 15, 2024 — permanently. “Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves facing challenges that have made it impossible to continue our operations,” shared the cookie bakery on their Instagram. “The cumulative effects of Covid, an excruciatingly long buildout due to inexplicable delays, a six month strike, and increasing inflationary pressures on our costs have become untenable.” A post shared by Milk Jar Cookies (@milkjarcookies) Courtney Cowan, owner of the bakery, opened up the shop in 2013. Milk Jar Cookies became a hit both locally and nationwide as they even offered to ship their baked goods across the U.S. With their popularity over the past decade, it’s safe to say their cookies will be missed.
Lowrider Cruising Is Now Legal Across The State Of California
Southern California is often renowned as the birthplace of lowrider culture and cruising. It’s safe to say that Californians and the lowrider community are celebrating this new year. As of January 1, 2024, cruising is now legal. “As we’ve always said, cruising isn’t a crime,” Jovita Arellano, the president of the United Lowriders Coalition, shared with CBS8 in a recenter interview. “We’re really happy that the state assembly members, the senators, and the governor have embraced our culture that is really important to us.” Authored by California Assemblymember David Alvarez and signed by Governor Gavin Newsom back in October 2023 — Assembly Bill 436, prohibits lowrider bans and anti-cruising ordinances across the state. It has now taken into effect this 2024. “It is an honor to introduce this bill to acknowledge classic cars and cruising which is an expression of art and a cultural identity for many of us,” stated Assemblymember Alvarez back in February 2023 when he first introduced the bill.
Los Angeles Was Named One Of The World’s Best Cities For 2024
Resonance Consultancy recently released its new ranking of the World’s Best Cities for 2024, and Los Angeles made it into the #15 spot out of 270+ global cities analyzed. Of the US cities named, only New York City and San Francisco ranked above LA in the United States. While Los Angeles has slipped down in the ranks since its #12 spot in 2023, it remains solidly among some of the most highly-ranked cities thanks to several glowing factors. Resonance credited LA’s wealth of iconic attractions and globally-renowned events as major reasons for its high ranking. 2023 and 2024 bring centennial milestones for quintessential landmarks including the Hollywood Sign, Warner Bros. Studios and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum; and their respective celebrations have brought renewed attention to LA’s role in American culture. The next few years will also bring major additions to the city’s thriving arts and culture scene, with the opening of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum’s NHM Commons, and Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.
