The Sedalia City Council approved an ordinance Monday night authorizing a scope of work for design, plans, and specifications for a sidewalk project connecting the Katy Depot with Liberty Park.

This project involves building a trail/sidewalk along 3rd Street between the two parks. City Administrator Kelvin Shaw explained that the council approved the scope of work to design the plans for the sidewalk.

The council approved the contract to Wilson and Company in the amount of $194,715.15. A business owner along the proposed route expressed disappointment that she and other residents weren’t offered the opportunity to weigh in on the route. Shaw says that will happen during this next phase of the project.
