Public works crews in Sedalia will begin the fourth of their eight stormwater improvement projects Monday in the eastern part of the city.

Genesis Environmental Solutions will construct the improvements in an area ranging from South Hancock to South Brown avenues, and from East Ninth to East 12th Streets. Heavy equipment and workers will be present during the project, which is expected to take 75 days to complete.

Two other projects began last week, one on South Beacon from 13th to 14th streets, and the other in the area of South Quincy and West 28th. They’re part of the city’s Stormwater Master Plan and paid for in part by grant funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.

Sedalia’s Public Works Department also announced that because of this week’s weather, the project to overlay asphalt on South Ingram from East 16th south to the city limits will now start Sunday and run through Thursday, July 25th.
