In the 1700s, this frozen delay was so rare and expensive that it was reserved for royalty and the wealthy. But everything changed in 1843 when a woman named Nancy Johnson from New Jersey invented the hand-cranked ice cream freezer.

Those who would otherwise have trouble clothing their kids can come in between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to pick out a pair of free tennis shoes for their child.
