National Weather Service looking into possible Ovid tornado
OVID — The National Weather Service is investigating whether a structure in this Seneca County town was destroyed by a tornado last week. Melissa Taylor, the county's director of emergency management, said in an email to the Finger Lakes Times that winds lifted a hoop-style barn at Compton Farms off Wyers Point Road Wednesday afternoon and blew it across a field. The barn, about 240 feet in length, was left twisted and mangled.
