TSUW merges with area United Way
The boards of directors for United Way of North Central Ohio (UWNCO) and Tiffin-Seneca United Way (TSUW) have jointly announced a merger of the two nonprofit organizations. Effective July 1, Tiffin-Seneca United Way is operating as a part of United Way of North Central Ohio. The merger formalizes the consultancy partnership in effect since early 2023, with Amber Wertman, UWNCO CEO, continuing to lead the organization’s expanding impact in Crawford, Marion, Morrow, and Wyandot counties, and Tiffin-Seneca United Way.

Services through this campaign are available to any individuals or families in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca or Wood counties who are enrolled in partnership programs and need help that is not otherwise generally covered by the agency's grant-funded services.
County receives funds for road work
Seneca County recently received grant funds from the Ohio Public Works Commission to aid in township road reconstruction in each township. According to a press release, each of the 15 townships will receive $25,000 to use towards projects, for a total of $375,000. The total cost for the road projects is estimated to be $1,509,487.02.
U.S. Marshals offer reward for capture of fugitive
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information that leads to the capture of a man wanted on charges stemming from a death in Fostoria. Michael Toney, 43, is wanted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service for involuntary manslaughter. Mr. Toney is suspected of supplying an individual with narcotics that led to an overdose death in 2018. Mr. Toney is a described as about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He is known to frequent both the Toledo and Cleveland areas. Anyone with information about Mr. Toney can contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or can submit a web tip at usmarshals.gov. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
