ESPN names Clemson’s biggest ‘question mark’ heading into 2024
Clemson hasn’t been to the College Football Playoff since 2020, and a recent piece from ESPN staff writers named the biggest reason why from the standpoint of position play. While listing their biggest question marks for post-spring Top 25 teams heading into the 2024 season, ESPN named the quarterback position as the Tigers’ biggest uncertainty. Per staff writer David Hale: “Here’s a mind-boggling stat: From 2015 to 2020, Clemson had the ACC’s best Total QBR against FBS opponents. From 2021 to 2023, the Tigers ranked dead last. Cade Klubnik isn’t responsible for all of that, and there are certainly other factors at play (O-line, wide...
Clemson football recruiting: Tracking 2025 commits for Dabo Swinney
CLEMSON — It's been business as usual on the recruiting trail for coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson football. Swinney, who received criticism for not landing a transfer player in the 2024 cycle, has stuck to his bread and butter, landing high school recruits who can develop into impact players. After having the 11th-ranked 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports, Clemson looks to recreate that success in 2025.
Where Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class ranks after huge commitment from 4-star Bryce Davis
Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program have secured a major addition to their 2025 recruiting class. Four-star defensive end Bryce Davis committed to Clemson on Saturday, picking the Tigers over Georgia, Duke, and South Carolina. According to 247 Sports composite rankings, Davis is the No. 59 overall player and No. 8 defensive lineman in his class. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound edge rusher was a priority for Clemson, receiving one of their first offers last June. He visited several times over the past year, including an official visit in June. With the addition of Davis comes a jump in the Tigers’ 2025 class rankings. Clemson was off to a stellar start initially in this class, but things slowed down drastically—drastically until the addition of Davis, of course. Clemson’s 2025 class now ranks No. 11 overall for 247Sports composite rankings, No. 6 for On3, and No. 15 for Rivals, right around where the Tigers have been the past few seasons.
