Lessons Learned Over the Years Are Still Valuable Today
A building on Church Street in New Haven has been a font of experiences and lifelong lessons. One Forty-One Church Street is the address of the New Haven seat of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. That stately building fronting the Green has been for me a font of countless experiences and many, many lessons. These experiences are deposits in my memory bank. Some lessons have taken. Many take only with repetition. Many more are lost no matter how often taught. One of my most important lessons came out of that building but not from the court.
The True Story of the Amityville Horror
Since 1977, a lake house in Amityville, New York, has been the subject of multiple books, television programs, and almost 15 movies. However, the real story of the "Amityville Horror" is rarely told in the films, which focus more on a fiction based around the Lutz family and their alleged haunting. One of the most interesting facts about the Amityville case is that the hauntings have been debunked numerous times. The defense lawyer who initially represented mass murderer Ronald Defeo, Jr. has stated in multiple court documents that the entire haunting was a hoax. Still, the mythology of the Amityville home lives on.

Huntington Station man, 67, killed in head-on crash on Main Road in Aquebogue
A Huntington Station man was killed in a head-on collision yesterday on Main Road in Aquebogue, just east of Union Avenue. The accident, which occurred at about 11:47 a.m., involved a 2018 BMW driven by Anthony Croce, 65, of Brooklyn and a 2002 Nissan operated by Matthew Schramm, 67, of Huntington Station, Riverhead Police said in a press release issued this morning. Both drivers, each the sole occupant of their vehicle, sustained significant injuries in the crash, police said.
