New data says mortgage rates ‘are headed in the right direction’
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- U.S mortgage rates have been falling as of late, and are now the lowest they’ve been since mid-March. The average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage was 6.77% Thursday, according to Freddie Mac, a government-sponsored home-loan agency. Down from 6.89% last week. Rates on a 15-year fixed mortgage were 6.05%, down from 6.17%.
