Earlier this month, Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, successfully concluded a real estate transaction involving his 2,430-square-foot house in Medina, Washington. The property, which boasts expansive views of Lake Washington, the Seattle skyline, and the Olympic Mountains, was listed for sale on March 29 with an asking price of nearly $4.989 million.

The mid-century modern home, nestled on a 0.61-acre lot, features a large deck, a zen garden, four bedrooms, and three full bathrooms. Additionally, it is equipped with radiant heated floors, enhancing the comfort of its sprawling layout. Despite the significant interest in the property, the final sale price remains undisclosed.

Realtor.com reported on the listing, while RE/MAX Northwest handled the sale, which quickly moved to a "pending" status. The rapid sale highlights the continued demand for high-end properties in the Medina area, where Gates still owns the famous "Xanadu 2.0," a 66,000-square-foot mansion that has been his primary residence.

Bill Gates, who led Microsoft for 15 years and left the company's board in 2020 to focus on philanthropic efforts, has not publicly commented on the sale. His departure from the board was to dedicate more time to global health, education, and climate change initiatives.

Medina, located in King County close to Microsoft’s headquarters, is known for its luxurious properties and affluent residents, making it a prime location for high-value real estate transactions. The sale of Gates' property is just another testament to the area's attractiveness to buyers seeking premium real estate with exceptional views and privacy.
