Nintendo is bucking the September tradition and hosting an August 2024 Nintendo Direct all about upcoming Switch games – and an Indie World

August 2024 Nintendo Direct time and where to watch

Nintendo has added one final event to the summer game-a-palooza calendar with not one but two game showcases. Tomorrow at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, Nintendo will host an indie world showcase, then a partner direct will immediately follow. Altogether, Nintendo says the two back-to-back events will be 40-minutes long.

The big Nintendo Direct usually doesn’t happen until September, but this year the Mario maker is sneaking out a slightly smaller showcase at the tail end of August for indie and third-party games. Does that mean we’re getting the official reveal of the Switch 2 next month instead?

I had no idea what I was in for with Gori: Cuddly Carnage when I jumped in to review it. It looked like a neon-bedazzled game about a cute cat riding a cool hoverboard through a towering city.
