Former Georgia QB Stetson Bennett talks playing with Matthew Stafford
Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett has learned a great deal from fellow Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford. Bennett and Stafford are teammates on the Los Angeles Rams. Bennett joined “Unreserved with TJ Calloway” to update his status and talk about how playing with and learning from Stafford is going. “He’s (Matthew Stafford) the man. And Jimmy (Garoppolo), too,” said Bennett. “He’s solid. I’m learning a lot from him.” Stafford has been a starting quarterback in the NFL for over a decade. Stafford has seen every possible type of defense and has been on good teams and bad teams. “He just doesn’t really think,...
Braves place Max Fried on 15-day injured list with forearm issue
ATLANTA (AP) — Braves All-Star left-hander Max Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list with forearm neuritis, a nerve inflammation, in a move retroactive to Thursday, the Braves announced Sunday. Fried (7-5, 3.08 ERA) has made 18 starts this season and has been a critical member of the Braves’ rotation along with Chris Sale and Reynaldo López. The Braves lost top pitcher Spencer Strider for the season in April after just two starts. Manager Brian Snitker said Fried initially felt something getting loose before Tuesday’s All-Star Game appearance. Fried pitched the second inning, throwing 10 pitches and allowing one walk. He still felt something was off when he came to the ballpark on Friday, and he had an MRI that revealed the neuritis. He will not throw until he is asymptomatic. “Hopefully it is just a brief stint on the IL,” Snitker said.

Whether it is the past trade-deadline hauls pushing the team towards a World Series or locking up their young talent early. Sunday’s forecast calls for more of the same
Saturday night update: Get ready for more of the same on Sunday as a stationary front continues to be the key player in our weather. Combined with the heat of the day, we will see scattered showers and storms, mainly during the afternoon and evening. The good news is that this rain is much needed, as we are experiencing drought conditions. However, we don’t want the flooding, which is a possibility with slow-moving storms moving over the same areas. As far as the severity of the storms, we can’t rule out a few severe storms, but it won’t be a major event. The primary threats are heavy rain, frequent lightning, strong winds, and small hail. As far as temperatures are concerned, they will be in the upper 80s to near 90, which is actually a few degrees below average. Humidity will make it feel hotter, though, with heat indices near 100 degrees. Looking ahead to next week, the unsettled pattern continues with daily rain chances and temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.
