Town passes ordinance cracking down on illicit discharges
EASTON — An ordinance that will crack down on the dumping and spillage of certain discharges in Easton is set to take effect in early August. The Easton Town Council unanimously passed an illicit discharge ordinance on Monday following discussions of the item at three public meetings. New listings surge after a slow week. The week ending July 14 had 6,421 new listings come onto the market, a 36.0% surge from the holiday week. DC man sentenced to 20 years for deadly 2023 July 4 shooting in Northeast
A D.C. man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday for his role in a Fourth of July shooting that left another man dead in Northeast last year. In a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C., prosecutors said D.C. resident Brandon Smith, 38, pleaded guilty on Feb. 4 to second-degree murder while armed in connection with the death of 43-year-old Charles Stanton, also of D.C.

Carolina Gets OT Win Over Maryland
The Carolina Chaos took on the Maryland Whipsnakes in the second Friday matchup of the PLL’s Week 6 slate in Fairfield, Connecticut.
