Alex Quinn Memorial Kickball Tournament kicks off August 10th

Shadyside, OHIO (WTRF) – The game of kickball has been a favorite for area school-kids for generations.

Now you have the chance to relive some of those childhood memories as one local community honors one of their most accomplished athletes.

The 2nd Annual Alex Quinn Memorial Kickball Tournament will take place on August 10th at the ballfields in Shadyside.

The event is held in honor of Quinn who was considered by many to be Shadyside’s most successful wrestler. He passed away at the age of 26 back in April of 2021.

Proceeds from the tournament fund the Alex Quinn Memorial Scholarship. Organizers say they hope to build on the success of last year’s event.

“I think, last year we weren’t expecting it, at all. We weren’t expecting as much as we got last year. We were just expecting some people to come out and then we were blown away by how many people showed up. we are hoping that momentum can continue and mor people come out, more people show up.”

Anyone interested in entering a team in this year’s tournament can register by going to the Alex Quinn Memorial Kickball Tournament Facebook page .

They will be accepting registrations up until August 9th, the day before the tournament.
