Former manager of Smithfield Chicken & BBQ wanted for larceny and embezzlement charges
EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA — The Kinston Police Department are searching for a former restaurant employee who is wanted for failing to make bank deposits. Warrants were obtained for 32-year-old Haley Walton of Jacksonville who has been charged with two counts of larceny by employee and two counts of embezzlement, according to KPD.
Teens calling suicide lifeline more than any other age group, state data shows
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Concerns about teen mental health are rising as more in North Carolina are calling the national suicide and crisis lifeline. In North Carolina, people ages 13 to 17 are calling 988 more than any other age group. According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, in the last 12 months, about 6,500 teens called the crisis lifeline for help.

Slower season for turtle nesting on Bald Head Island
