Man sets fire to home to halt sheriff's sale: Police
Dalmatia, Pa. — A warrant was issued Friday for a Northumberland County man who allegedly set his home on fire the day it was scheduled for a sheriff's sale. Early the morning of June 20, firefighters responded to a a fire at the two-story home of Andrew John Souder, 35, at the 200 block of River Road in Lower Mahanoy Township. I was proud to cast my affirmative vote for a basic education funding bill that would help get our public schools the dollars they need to assist students, teachers and staff, and I spoke in support of the bill prior to passage. Rite Aid has been closing hundreds of stores since it filed for bankruptcy in October.
