Bloomsburg man dies in mowing accident
Bloomsburg, Pa. — A Bloomsburg man died Wednesday morning after a commercial lawn mower he was operating overturned on him. Montour County Coroner Scott Lynn says Corey Harner, 42, was operating a commercial zero-turn lawn mower on a slope in West Hemlock Township when it slid off the slope and overturned on him. The safety roll bar was not in the correct position for safety at the time of the incident, Lynn added. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the 911 call was placed at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 28. Harner was pronounced dead at the scene. Harner was employed by Unger's Lawn Service of Bloomsburg at the time of the incident, according to the coroner's release. Fire departments from Washingtonville, Valley Township, Geisinger EMS, and Milton PSP assisted at the scene.
