Trump Rally-Goers Stranded After Their Cars Get Towed from Dunkin’ Parking Lot

Attendees at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday were left stranded and confused after their cars were towed from a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot.

According to a local WBTV report, dozens of attendees left the rally only to find that their cars had been towed, despite claiming that the manager of the Dunkin’ had given them permission to park there.

“I talked to dozens of people who were stranded here. They told me basically the same thing,” reported WBTV’s Ron Lee. “They parked here in this parking lot, went to the rally, enjoyed themselves, came back, and the cars were simply gone. A lot of these people came from hours away and now they’ve got no way to get home.”

Footage taken by WBTV News showed the attendees looking confused and frustrated as they stood in the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot.

Gotcha Towing told WBTV that the manager of the store had personally contacted them to get the cars towed and said there were signs in the parking lot which clearly warned that “illegally parked cars would be removed.” Gotcha Towing also told WBTV that attendees of the Trump rally would have to pay a $380 fee to secure the release of their vehicles.

One attendee told the station that Dunkin’ employees locked the doors to the store after being confronted by a crowd of unhappy Trump rally attendees.

Police were called to the scene by attendees, but were unable to do anything other than drive people to the towing yard to pay for the release of their cars.
