Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton attends Whisper Aero ribbon cutting
Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford and House Speaker Cameron Sexton joined Whisper Aero Co-founders, Mark Moore and Ian Villa, for the official ribbon cutting of Whisper Aero’s Flight Test Center. Construction on the 8,000 square foot hangar at the Crossville Memorial Airport began last July. The new facility was made possible through a $1.2 million appropriation from the State of Tennessee and features a high bay area for testing and office space for onsite engineering.
Five-Star Tennessee Offensive Line Target Announces Commitment Date
Five-star offensive line Josh Petty is announcing his college commitment on Aug. 12, On3’s Chad Simmons first reported on Thursday afternoon. Petty is down to a top five that includes Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Stanford and Tennessee after taking official visits to all five schools in recent years.
44 days until it is football time in Tennessee
Tennessee will kick off its 2024 football season in 44 days. The Vols will open its upcoming campaign on Aug. 31 against Chattanooga at Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12:45 p.m. EDT and SEC Network will televise the contest. 2024 will be the fourth season for Tennessee under head coach Josh Heupel. In his first three seasons, Heupel is 27-12 and guided the Vols to three bowl games. The Vols finished 9-4 (4-4 SEC) last season. Former Arlington Little Leaguer a member of college World Series baseball champs
A few weeks ago, A.J. Russell was a sophomore right-handed pitcher on the University of Tennessee baseball team that won the College World Series. Prior to that, during his early years of developing his baseball skills, Russell spent one season playing in the Arlington Little League organization for the A’s Majors team. That was back in the spring of 2016 on a team coached by Mike Goldsmith. He later played for an all-star team that season, managed by current league president and Wakefield High head baseball coach Adam Balutis.

Old Gray Cemetery tasked with thousands in repairs after vandalism
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Old Gray Cemetery, located off North Broadway near downtown Knoxville, has been a historic landmark in the city since it was built in 1850.
