At Franklin Park this weekend: “Kids World, a free two-day event designed for young children, teens, and families”
“The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID), the place management organization that oversees 140 blocks of the downtown area, today announced the return of Kids World, a free two-day event designed for young children, teens, and families. On July 27 and July 28, Franklin Park and “I Street” will be completely transformed, hosting 30 immersive activations that promote literacy, performing arts, health and fitness, creativity, science, nature, entrepreneurship and more.
New artisan shop at Cabin John
Dov & Company, the newest addition to Cabin John Village, is a popup shop showcasing the works of local artisans. The store is run by Colombian-born sisters Maria and Sofia Tapias, who create jewelry from recycled silver and other upcycled materials. In addition to their own line, the store features handmade jewelry from other as well as handbags, kitchenware, home decor, stuffed animals, skincare products, clothes and other goods from D.C.-area artisans. There will be weekly craft workshops, and the store has a permanent make-your-own jewelry bar. You’ll find Dov & Company in the middle of the Cabin John shopping center, between Jurisdiction Clothing and Rewild. If all goes well, it will be there at least through the holidays.
Drunken Antics At Solomons Tiki Bar Lands Pair From Virginia Behind Bars: Sheriff
Craig Michael Conway, 53, and Alina Pitts, 30, both of Arlington, got some beer muscles while at the Tiki Bar on Charles Street in Solomons, landing them both behind bars. According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to investigate an active fight in progress at the popular bar, and upon arrival found Conway accosting and approaching on security staff.

Gary Courtney Stewart Wanted For Assaulting Woman In MD
An alert has been issued by the Charles County Sheriff's Office as they attempt to locate a wanted man from DC who allegedly assaulted a woman. Davey Quinones, 20, faces 46 charges, many of them felonies, after his arrest, Springfield police said. Police were investigating Quinones for allegedly having an illegal firearm with a 50-round drum magazine when he spotted the surveillance team on Lombard Street around 3:45 p.m. He jumped into a car and sped away, slamming into multiple vehicles as he made his hasty exit, authorities said.
