HSHS Announces Southern Illinois Market Leaders
O’FALLON — Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) recently conducted a blessing ceremony to commission four leaders to new roles within their organization. These leaders serve in HSHS ministries in the Southern Illinois Market, which includes St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Holy Family Hospital in Greenville, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
Man gets 25 years in prison for shoving girlfriend off 7th-floor balcony at St. Louis hotel
ST. LOUIS — An Illinois man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to shoving his girlfriend off of a hotel balcony and leaving her in an alley back in 2021. According to charging documents, EMS workers found the woman naked in an alley in the 1500 block of South Theresa Avenue on June 30, 2021. The EMS workers said she was unable to move and was incoherent. She was hospitalized with a broken neck, a crushed spine and multiple injuries to internal organs but survived the fall.

The Salem Community High School Board agreed to raise breakfast and lunch prices at Monday night’s meeting after learning an Illinois State Board of Education Audit found they are too low.
