This house at 1614 SW Jefferson Ave. in Lawton has not had an active water account in 10 years and was among 10 residential properties condemned recently by the City Council. City Attorney John Andrew was authorized to start legal proceedings in Comanche County District Court to abate the nuisances. One of the houses declared dilapidated and dangerous was heavily damaged in a fire by squatters, the owner said. The owners of five deteriorated houses told the City Council they intend to renovate their properties.
