Final opportunities to ride in a 100-year-old vintage car this summer at The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum
SAPULPA – Officials with the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum are reminding the public they have less than two months to take part in the third-annual vintage car rides. The vintage car rides take place every Saturday morning starting at the museum. Currently, guests can ride in a 1923 Packard and drive to Pretty Water Lake. A driver is provided and the car rides take place between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., weather permitting. The rides will run through the end of September.

Wynona offers blended learning, full virtual enrollment
The Wynona Public School District has joined the THRIVE Learning Collaborative, Oklahoma’s only public virtual school cooperative. Pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students attending on-site at Wynona will continue to be provided with traditional full-day instruction by teachers present in the classroom, while students attending on-site in grades 6-12 will be provided blended learning options. Blended learning for these students will include a combination of traditional coursework with on-site instruction, in addition to virtual courses with live online instruction provided by certified THRIVE instructors.

Drummer, vocalist and native Tulsan Arthur Thompson may have left the city six years ago, but his heart still firmly remains here. Thompson, who recently moved to Nashville after time in both LA and San Diego pursuing his solo career, released his third single, “Oasis,” this spring. Recorded in his hometown at Jung Jacob Song’s Black Box Studio, Thompson’s joyful cover of the original song made famous by Roberta Flack features Tulsa musicians David John (guitar), Cortez Johnson (bass), Melody Dunlap (backing vocals), John Gilutin (keyboard and mixing) and the group Monkey Fist Horns. Thompson’s son, Arthur Thompson Jr., shot the accompanying video in Nashville.
