California's Safest Big City Greenlights Speed Safety Cameras, Targeting Safer Roads by Spring 2025
Today, the San José City Council unanimously approved a use policy and impact report to implement speed safety cameras on city streets by Spring 2025, expediting the project by up to two months. Under Assembly Bill (AB) 645, passed in October 2023, San José is authorized to install up to 33 speed cameras as part of a statewide pilot to reduce speeding and traffic fatalities.
