    Kansas man drowns in Stockton Lake

    CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Shawnee, Kansas, has died after drowning near a pontoon boat in Stockton Lake on Saturday, June 6, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

    In the drowning report, MSHP says at around 6:03 p.m. Saturday, 60-year-old Craig Olson was swimming near a 2008 Landau Pontoon boat stationed west of the Stockton Dam, where he dove near the boat and resurfaced. Olson then swam to the boat and went underwater again, but he did not resurface.

    Olson was pronounced deceased by the Cedar County Deputy Coroner at 8:00 p.m. The next of kin have been notified of his passing.

    This is the third drowning in Troop D for 2024.
