Earthquake Shakes Illinois: Shocking Footage Inside (Video)
A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck Northern Illinois early this morning. The earthquake occurred a little before 3 a.m. in Southern DeKalb County, near the town of Somonauk. The earthquake was felt in various locations including Winthrop Harbor, Cary, and Yorkville. Heather and Cory were awakened by the quake, initially mistaking it for a storm. Marcia in Winthrop Harbor reported feeling her house shake. A resident in Cary noticed the loud and rumbly noise, distinguishing it from thunder. Dan in Yorkville also felt the earthquake.
Popular restaurant chain to open 92 locations in Walmart stores
Mr Gatti’s Pizza, a Texas-based pizza restaurant chain, is partnering with Walmart to open 92 store locations across four states. The partnership will bring Mr Gatti’s Pizza to Walmart locations in Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Mr Gatti’s will open 12 of the 92 planned locations by the end of this year in south Oklahoma and north Texas, according to a news release.

Lawmakers say two recently passed bills save motorists time, enhance convenience
(The Center Square) – The Illinois legislature voted to provide motorists an option at the DMV of a four-year or eight-year driver’s license. They also approved the option of having a digital driver's license. State Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport, who supported Senate Bill 275, said the eight-year license is double the cost, but the time savings and convenience will be attractive to many motorists. Police: Home invasion suspect arrested following multi-day search
CARRIER MILLS, Ill. (KFVS) - After a multi-day search, law enforcement has arrested the suspect of a home invasion. According to the Carrier Mills Police Department, officers worked with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in the search for 24-year-old Tyrese D. Isbell, which began on July 11. He was taken into custody near the Elkville Dollar General store after a short chase.
Princeton man charged with murder in crash that killed 15-month-old
The Princeton Police Department has arrested and charged the motorcyclist involved in a crash that killed a 15-month-old child on July 5. According to a news release, 47-year-old Joseph Traylor of Princeton has been arrested and charged with murder and reckless driving. Investigation into the single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the 300 block of Beverly Lane revealed that Traylor was operating a motorcycle with the child strapped to his chest.
