SHEBOYGAN FALLS – The annual Sheboygan Falls Ducktona 500 has been forced to duck out of Fourth of July weekend festivities after heavy rain caused unmanageable river flooding.

Sheboygan Falls Chamber – Main Street announced the cancellation of the July 7 event on Facebook Tuesday night.

“Today the SF Chamber Board and Ducktona committee had to make a very difficult decision – to cancel Ducktona,” the post read.

The event was set to include a classic car and antique boat show, antique boat rides, live music, a vendor fair, and more at Sheboygan Falls River Park. The famous Duck Race was also set to commence with thousands of plastic ducks racing down the Sheboygan River.

However, recent heavy rain has caused the park to be flooded twice and the ground remains too soft to host the event.
